On Friday night, Payton, Brandon and I met Jennifer, Patrick and Addie up at Alicia's for some great Mexican food. After a tasty dinner, we were outside letting the girls play and we hear a wreck happen. SO.... Being the tall gal that I am, I see Brandon's truck and tell him it's been hit in the wreck. Not believing me, he ran over there and sure enough, it had been hit. A Tahoe was driving on a side street and a mustang pulled out in front of it w/out even noticing it and when it did, it blew the Tahoe's right front tire, forcing it to bumper car 3 parked cars, one of which was Brandon's. Thankfully, no one was hurt, just a little shaken up to say the least. SO... the police were called and of course, if you live in Houston, you know ALL the tow trucks in town were there quicker than we could call the cops. We waited for the police to get there and we the Sheriff arrived, the fun began. I have never been in an accident in Houston where tow trucks are involved but it is the funniest thing ever! The Sheriff pulls up and the tow truck drivers swarm to him like bee's. He takes off the hat he is wearing and starts shaking it. Inside his hat are numbers and each tow truck driver gets a number and whichever number the Sheriff pulls out, that's who gets the towing job for the accident. I was completely floored by this and found it quite humorous as did everyone else there. There were 5 cars, including Brandon's, that had to be towed so 5 lucky number pickers got business that evening towing a Tahoe, a Mustang, an Excursion, an Acadia and one big ol' GMC HD :). Brandon's truck's bumper was pretty damaged so he's driving a rental truck until his truck is fixed. After the tow gambling game was done, the man and woman who owned the Excursion & Acadia decided to come out of Alicia's after drinking one too many margarita's and found their cars to be 2 of the 5 hit in the bumper car escapade. The wife was not too pleased to see her brand new Acadia damaged so she decided to start screaming and cussing at everyone and about got herself put in jail by the Sheriff. Overall, the food was good, no one was hurt and the entertainment was priceless. Thank goodness no one was hurt and Brandon has learned never to park on a side street again, especially facing the wrong direction :) He was told by the Sheriff that if he were the front car (he was the 3rd car, parked parallel behind 2 others), the entire accident would have been his fault b/c he was not parked the correct direction!!!! Thank goodness for the 2 cars in front of him :)
