10 Upstairs & 10 Downstairs

Payton went to her 1st dentist appointment today! We went to see Dr. Joe Pierce at Cypress Pediatric Denistry. When we got to the office, we filled out paper work and Payton felt right at home reading books and watching the Cars Movie. The dental assistant called us back and we went into our 1st exam room. Miss Nicole weighed Payton and took a picture of her for her file. She then had her sit in the chair and told her what all Dr. Joe was going to do with her teeth. Dr. Joe came in the room and Payton opened wide and showed him all of her chompers and was proud of all of them. She told him she got them a JCPenney! (For James, why JCPenney I have no idea :) Maybe b/c it's right next to the gym that we venture to daily? Who knows w/ her:) ). After checking out her teeth, we went to the X-Ray room to take pictures of her teeth. She loved the "jacket" that they put on her and was really interested in the camera and rectangular "biter" that Miss Nicole put in her mouth. After 10 minutes in the x-ray room, we came out with 2 pretty pictures of her teeth. The last step on our dentist adventure was the fun room! Payton got to sit in a big exam chair and conveniently placed above her chair on the ceiling was a TV with The Incredibles move on! She thought that was really cool and special. After Miss Nicole and Ms. Linda went over what all the tools were on the tray next to her, she was ready to see Dr. Joe work. Dr. Joe told her to open wide and took a gander at all her teeth. He was very happy to say that she has 20, 10 on top & 10 on bottom, perfectly healthy teeth with no signs of decay, YAY!!! After giving Dr. Joe a fist bump good-bye, we went to the treasure chest and picked out a Yo-Yo as a souvenir from her 1st dentist appointment. We hope her next appointment in January goes as smoothly as her 1st! We're so proud of all her healthy teeth :)

i can't believe she already needs to go to the dentist! she is growing too fast! i love how they catered to children and kept her so entertained and not scared. I remember my first dentist visit(well, maybe not my VERY first...) but in general, was a scary place to go! This place sounded like fun...especially the treat box or whatever you called it where she got the yo-yo.
