Last week, we had a great visit from Aunt Susanne, Aunt Sarah and cousins Adelie & Reid. Susanne, Adelie & Reid got here on Wednesday afternoon. That evening, we took the kids to Chick-fil-A (I know you're shocked that we went to CFA:) ) for great food and playing. The kids ate a great dinner (which is hard to come by in both of our houses) and played their little hearts out. After dinner, it was bath, bed and night-night time for all.
Thursday was Aunt Susanne's Birthday! We had a great day! Susanne kept all the kiddo's while I went to a meeting at Payton's school. After lunch and naps, we went to one of the pools in our neighborhood. The kids loved the kiddie pool and had lots of fun in the sun playing with the other kids at the pool. That evening, we had Chili's for dinner and cupcakes to celebrate Aunt Susanne's birthday. The kids devoured the cupcakes and were covered in colorful icing so off to the bath they went, then to bed for sweet dreams.
Friday, we got the kids up and got everyone dressed and ready for another fun filled day. We went to the Houston Premium Outlets that are in the front of our neighborhood and did a little tax-free, back to school shopping. I must say that I had an eye opening experience while in Gymboree that day. There was a mother of 3 that was shopping and one of her kids was throwing the BIGGEST temper tantrum I have EVER seen. Not only did the mother let her child scream at the top of her lungs in a store packed with other mothers and children, she left her in her stroller, in the middle of the store, screaming and kept shopping!! I was floored that any parent would ruin another persons shopping experience b/c they so selfishly don't want to deal with their own children and leave a store to help their child. Susanne and I were both in awe at this mother and couldn't stand the screeching any longer so we left Gymboree without any good deals. The rest of our shopping trip was great and the kids, overall, were well behaved :) We got some great buys and the kids got Auntie Anne's pretzels as a treat and got to ride the "Sesame Street" rides after we were done. That evening, Aunt Sarah came in town to visit for the night. The kids were SOOO excited to see Tia! We had tacos for dinner and went for drinks after the kids were in bed :)
On to Saturday.... We went to Alicia's for lunch and had great Mexican food! After we ate and enjoyed our nice lunch, we went to Paper Daisy, my favorite store, to see if they had any new fall stuff, lunch boxes, nap mats, etc.... Thanks to Aunt Sarah-- She stayed in the car with the kiddo's so that the store wasn't destroyed and they enjoyed watching Baby Einstein's shape video, Reid's favorite! We went back to our house and hung out and played for the rest of the day. Aunt Sarah went back to Austin that afternoon and made it back safe and sound. That evening, the kids were exhausted but Adelie & Payton faught sleep for 1.5+ hours!! We moved them from the guest bedroom to my bedroom on a pallet, to my bed and finally, they went to sleep!
Sunday, Aunt Susanne and the kiddo's headed back to Celina. We had a great time with them here and can't wait for them to come and visit again soon! We'll see them this weekend for Reid's 2nd Birthday party! YAY! We love y'all and thanks for the fun!
