We headed to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo today! It was Payton's 3rd year to attend and she had even more fun this year than any year before! She was so excited to get to "Agventure" that she didn't know what she wanted to do first once we got there. One of her favorite things to do is to roll down the green "grass" hill that is used as a sitting area during the live cow milking presentation. This year, she had so much fun rolling down the hill. It's sad that she rarely gets to roll down a hill since we live in a pretty flat area of Texas but once she spots one, she knows exactly what to do.
We then went to the Borden exhibit to see Elsie and Beauregard, the Borden cows. They were both sleeping which makes me wonder- what are they giving the cows that makes them sleep that can be any good to us in our milk? HA! Payton had fun seeing the calf, Beau, in her cradle and getting some sweet chocolate milk as a treat!
The Jonas Brothers were at the rodeo tonight so there were teeny-boppers all over the place. The Borden reps put on a Jonas Brothers dance in front of the cow exhibit and Payton had to jump in and dance along...to the Jonas Brothers!! She's far too young to know who those good looking boys are but there were MANY little ones her age that were wearing Jonas Bro T's and paraphernalia! Crazy!!
Our 3rd stop was the petting barn. There were goats, donkeys, chickens, and PIGS! The pigs were a new addition to the petting barn and Payton was really excited! She and Brandon went all around the barn trying to catch this cute little black piglet.... and by little, I mean little. He was smaller than most house cats and SUPER fast! She and another little boy got him cornered in the goat pen area and were so excited. ** The pictures are blurry, so sorry, and the REALLY blurry black ball you see is the little piglet running for dear life from Payton and the others are Payton celebrating when she captured poor baby Wilbur. After being cornered, the little guy somehow maneuvered his way out and ran in with a group of baby goats for disguise but there was no camouflaging that little man. Payton spotted him and immediately ran over and started petting him and telling other little kids how cute he was!
After much needed sanitizing, we went to the barn to see the show pigs, heifers and 1 big ol' longhorn. Then it was on to the chicks, chickens, roosters and bunnies. Payton kept telling the bunnies "Come out bunnies, come out!!!"
Last but not least, we got OUR picture made with the HLSR cow that has "Big ol' earrings"according to Payton :) She kept asking us to go back to see her so but wouldn't brave it out alone so I got a picture with the fashionable cow and Payton.
We had a wonderful time at the livestock show and can't wait to go back next year!! Brandon and I are going to see Lady Antebellum in concert tomorrow night!! YAY, a date for us! :)

I love all the blogs! I love the P pics! AND I love that that one pig looks like Hansel!
i want to go to the rodeo. since it's the "3rd" round...does that mean you took P as a baby?
We took her when she was 1, then 2 and now 3! She was only a month old the first time she would have been able to go so we missed that year :)
