Payne will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. It's crazy how fast the past 2 weeks have gone by and how fun they have been for all of us.
We took him to the doctor on Monday, June 15th, for a jaundice check and he was doing great. His jaundice when we left the hospital was 11.6 and on Monday, it had gotten better but definitely not gone. His doctor recommended I feed him every 2 hours during the day and every 3-3.5 hours during the night. He weighed 7 lbs even at 4 days old.
Yesterday on his actual due date, June 23rd, I took him back in for a jaundice check and his 2 week check up. His jaundice is almost gone, yay! He is a great eater so every feeding definitely helped clear up our yellow baby :) He got the newborn screening and had a prick on his foot to draw blood and he didn't make a peep. The nurse was shocked he didn't cry and I was too!
Weight: 7 pounds 15 ounces (He's an eater! He gained 15 oz in 8 days!!!)-- 30% percentile
Height: 20 inches -- 30% percentile
Head Circumference: 14 1/2 -- 50% percentile
Overall opinion: One healthy little man with lots of dark hair!!

Payne is a great baby! He wakes up 1-2x/night and is spoiling us rotten with the amount of sleep we are getting! He loves watching Payton's every good and bad move :) He makes the sweetest noises. It's funny how you forgot in just a short time how it is having a newborn around and their little squeaks and squirms....love them all! He loves to be swaddled. He prefers to face outward when you hold him or to be held in the cradle position. He is awake in the mornings and evenings and sleeps almost all afternoon....with the dogs close by watching over him and his every move. Emmit is his big protector..... glad we have a 80 lb guardian to watch over our little man :) He is a calm baby that loves to eat and sleep. He is more awake than his sister ever was at this age but their personalities at this age are identical.
We are so blessed to have a healthy baby boy! Payton is so happy he is here and we are too! We love our little M. Payne!

I LOVE hearing you "live" your experience b/c the things you talk about worrying about/thinking about are exactly things that go through my mind about an EVENTUAL baby #2. I'm so glad it's been such a rewarding experience (not that I really expected anything less...). He's such a cutie!
