Our sweet little boy is 1 month old!! My how this last month has flown by and how precious it has been with Payne in our lives! We can't remember the days when he wasn't a part of our family. It's crazy to think that just 1 short month ago, he wasn't here and already in just 1 short month, we can't imagine our lives without him. He has made our family complete (for now :) right, Brandon?!!) and we adore his every second.
Payton has loved him since the moment she met him. She runs to his side with every squeak and cry to help her little man with whatever it is that he may need. If we get up to get anything, she's running as fast as she can to help us and beat us to whatever it is that we may need. She holds him every chance she gets and loves on him with the most sincere 3-year old kisses and loves.
It has been such a relief knowing that we can love our 2 children the exact same, with the exact same amount of heart. Trust me, this was our biggest worry when expanding our family of 3. We always questioned "How could we love another child as much as we do Payton and give that child the amount of attention we do Payton?" But it's amazing how easy the love comes for a 2nd child and how the love for your 1st is just as strong as your love for the 2nd child.
Payne has been a perfect fit into our family and lives. From the delivery to the last month, it has been nothing short of a blessing having him here. Here are a few things that he's doing or has done in the last month :)
- 1st outing- 1 week old-- Chick-fil-A for breakfast as a family.
- Takes acid reflux medicine 4x/day. If he doesn't get it, you can tell that he's in pain :(
- Sleeps through the night most nights. The most he has ever woken up has been 2x.
- Turns his head towards Payton's voice whenever she talks. So, pretty much, his head is towards her ALL day, EVERY day, ha!
- Isn't so fond of Spring Cypress Road. It's a road here in Cypress and EVERY time we get on it, he starts screaming and does not settle down until we're off of it. Crazy and hard to believe, I know, but it's true.
- Loves his tummy!
- Is mostly in 0-3 month clothes and some newborn clothes still.
- Looks like Payton with his eyes closed but when he opens them, he looks like his mama :) which means he looks nothing like his sister. He does make faces like her.
- He has a short temper that is easily calmed with rocking, holding him or singing to him.
- Turns red in about 2 seconds, max! Crazy how his entire body can go from normal to fire engine red in no time!!
- Is learning to like swaddling :)
- Loves to eat! During the day, he eats every 3-5 hours depending on what we're doing. If we're out and about, he eats much less often.
- Isn't so fond of the bouncy seat unless he's sleeping. He'd rather be up looking around or propped up on the boppy.
- Gets really upset and fussy right before he goes to sleep.
- Loves his paci...on his terms. He takes it about 1/2 the time we give it to him.
- He grunts and makes the sweetest noises.
- He's been to: Chick-fil-A, Target, Newk's, friends houses, the doctor 3x, the post office and the movies.

Sweet boy Payne...bring him here!! Hmm...I'm not sure if I see the part about him looking like you...I'll investigate further this weekend!
No way! He is not a month old already! Time sure does fly! He's so precious and I don't think he looks like Payton at all. I can't tell who he looks like.
