Our good family friend, Tammy Osborn, was diagnosed with breast cancer this week. Tammy is Brandon's Mom's (Charla, Cha Cha) best friends (Aunt Dell) daughter-in-law, married to Dell's oldest son Justin. Tammy and Justin have 2 small children, Hunter (2 years old) and Brooklyn (4 months) and live in Bayfield, Colorado.
Tammy's cancer is at stage IIB cancer (B meaning there are 3+ lumps found) that has spread into her lymph nodes. Her doctor said it is the worst of the worst for how fast acting it is and because it is in the lymph nodes. She will begin chemotherapy on Thursday, September 17th, and will get treatments every 2 weeks for 12 weeks. Her last treatment is on December 23rd, what a great Christmas present to be done with her treatments. In January, she will undergo a double mastectomy.
Since she found out that she has cancer (1 week ago), she has had a positive attitude and has started the fight already! She will start losing her hair in about 3 weeks so she and a friend decided to "take the bull by the horns" as Tammy put it :) and cut their hair off together. What a great friend!
Tammy is such a positive, happy, contagiously happy mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend and she is in great need of prayer. She is a fighter and is already tackling this illness with determination, faith and one of the most important things to have, hope and a positive attitude.
Please pray for Tammy, for her husband, for her sweet, little babies, for her family and for the doctors during the next 4+ months. God bless Tammy and her courage, faith and love for life!
