Let's Rodeo!

On Sunday, we loaded up and headed to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo! We started taking Payton when she was just over a year old and we've made it a family tradition since (last year).  This year, we had an extra special treat at the rodeo. My good friend from grade school, Joe, was in town and got us in to see the hogs! Payton warmed up so quick to Joe, Susan (his mom) and Kristi (his sister). She's usually very clingy and quiet when she's around people she doesn't know too well but not with the Brhlik's!! They are the sweetest family I know and such good people so I know Payton warmed up quickly b/c she loves them, too! She didn't know what to think when the pigs started squealing. She covered her ears and laughed.  Joe then decided to try and sway her Big 12 commitment by having her do the "Gig'em" thumbs up or whatever you want to call it :) She was hesitant (a true Sooner) but then thought it was funny b/c we were making such a big deal about it. Then Susan took Payton to get chocolate milk and to see Elsie, the Borden cow, and her baby, Beau. They loaded up a bag full of goodies from the good people @ Borden and came back with smiles :)

Payne loved the chickens! He watched them run around and had he been out of his stroller, I think he would have crawled into the cage with them! Payton's favorite part were the pigs and watching the chicks hatch. After we spent half a day at "AgVenture", we went outside and Payton and her daddy played games. Payton won a cute little puppy all by herself! She was so proud!! We now have 2 dogs from the rodeo, 1 small dog and 1 dog named "Pearl" that is the size of Emmit, that her daddy won for her when we went to a concert a few weeks ago!

We had a wonderful time seeing the Brhlik's and seeing all the animals at the rodeo! We can't wait for HLSR 2011!!!
